It is with great pleasure that I welcome all participants in and visitors to the 6th Iberian Driving Cup, which will take place from March 23rd to 26th 2006 at Monte da Ravasqueira, in Arraiolos, against a background of a landscape of rare beauty, typical of one of the most outstanding regions of Portugal - the Alentejo.

In addition to the region's natural beauty, to the pleasant climate usually encountered in Portugal in March and to the countless reasons of an historic, heritage and touristic nature, the Organizing Committee of the 6th Iberian Driving Cup has prepared an ambitious programme that will allow drivers, grooms and their families to arrive at Monte da Ravasqueira on March 12th. This is nearly two weeks ahead of the event, allowing you to take full advantage of the programme that is being organised for the occasion.

We have also prepared for March 16th and 21st an event (dressage and cones) with prize money and FEI (International Equestrian Federation) CAI-B Classification, which takes place a week before the 6th Iberian Driving Cup at the same venue. The international judges who will be present at Monte da Ravasqueira for the occasion will accompany it.

I believe that there will be no lack of reasons for the 6th Iberian Driving Cup to be a moment of great satisfaction both for participants and for visitors, and for the Organising Committee, too, a committee that I am honoured to chair.
